Mr.Ryuji Kadowaki メッセージ1

2021.01.15 学校生活

Hello, everyone.
My name is Ryuji Kadowaki. I am a homeroom teacher of the junior high school 1st year A class.I have something that I want to tell students from my own experience.

When I was a student, I didn’t like to study. ( Actually, I still don’t like it so much.) That’s why I didn’t study a lot in high school and just did something fun for me.I didn’t have any dreams or goals for the future at that time, so it was also one of the reason not to keep my motivation to study. In junior high school, I wasn’t too bad at studying, and I didn’t hate English. However, I didn’t study English very well back then, so I became unable to understand English well.

I went on to university, but from then on, snowboarding became my hobby, and I spent my days thinking more about going out with my friends, working, and snowboarding than studying. However, since I had been interested in education since then, I managed to get certified as an English teacher and graduated, but due to my lack of study, I failed the teacher employment examination.

After graduation, luckily, I was able to start working as an English teacher in a public junior high school, but I was really inexperienced as an English teacher because I had so many questions that I couldn’t answer them when the students asked me.I continued to study English on my own every day, but it was really difficult for me to study on my own. After a few years of this, I finally made up my mind to change this situation. I decided to go to Australia to study English.

Although it was only for three months, it was a very fulfilling experience. I went to the language school every day and studied English. Of course, I had a lot of fun, but I also had a lot of hard days. However, thanks to this experience, I learned a lot of things and was able to improve my English. After that, I continued to study in my own way, and after returning to Japan, I was able to successfully pass the teacher employment examination.

When I was a student, I took it for granted that I could take classes. I never felt grateful to have someone teach me English. However, as an adult, I realized how difficult it was to study on my own without taking classes or having someone teach me. In order to go study abroad, I had to quit my job once and needed a lot of money.I also realized how hard it is to study and how important it is.

Many adults will tell students to study. Many of them, like me, have regretted not studying, or have failed because of it. When we are students, it is difficult to realize how blessed we are with our current environment. Young students have the opportunity to study at school (where teachers teach each subject) and have plenty of time to study. If you waste this great opportunity, you will need to pay a big price ( for example, a lot of money and time ).

Of course, hanging out with your friends is also so important for your life. However, do not forget that studying will give you many options for your future. All I want all the students to know is not wasting the time and opportunity to study. Only you can make your future. Please think about what to do, and what you should do now.
